The Arcane Republic of High Earth is a massive, efficient nation, ruled by Prime executive with a fair hand, and notable for its daily referendums, digital currency, and suspicion of poets. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic, devout population of 2.277 billion High Earthites are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The relatively small, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Education, Healthcare, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Wyvernia. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 23.4%.

The frighteningly efficient High Earthian economy, worth 326 trillion Pecuns a year, is broadly diversified and dominated by the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Tourism, Retail, and Arms Manufacturing. Average income is an impressive 143,296 Pecuns, but there is a significant disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 533,572 per year while the poor average 27,011, a ratio of 19.8 to 1.

The masses are surrendering their civil liberties without complaint for the sake of shopping convenience, fewer people are bathing as citizens must show ration stamps before they can turn on their faucets, bored politicians often entertain themselves with games of Simon during important votes, and former bakers no longer have to get their baps out. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. High Earth's national animal is the Dragon, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies, and its national religion is Catholicism.

High Earth is ranked 82,229th in the world and 26th in England for Largest Automobile Manufacturing Sector, scoring 2,990.5 on the Henry Ford Productivity Index.
